On 22 May 2025, a team of IDENA Group employees came together to take part in a waste collection operation, in partnership with the Plastic Pickup association. This initiative is fully in line with the Group’s CSR policy, which focuses on environmental sustainability and collective action.
Initially planned for the area around the Atlantis shopping centre in Saint-Herblain, the collection route quickly focused on Rue Jacques Cartier, as there was so much waste there. In just 45 minutes, participants managed to collect 25.3 kg of waste, spread across 7 to 8 bags, as well as 3 bottles full of cigarette butts.
The types of waste found unfortunately reflect deep-rooted urban pollution:
Among the most unusual items found were a pair of underpants, children’s toys, fuel cans and a knife.
Beyond its environmental impact, this initiative also strengthened team cohesion. Active participation, a positive atmosphere and informal exchanges helped make this event a real catalyst for social bonding. Feedback from employees was unanimous: a collective awareness of the scale of waste in a confined space, but also a real sense of satisfaction at working together in a practical way for the planet.
This initiative complements other commitments made by the IDENA Group in terms of social responsibility. Recent actions include:
Founded in 1995, the IDENA Group is an independent group comprising several companies dedicated to R&D, animal nutrition engineering and the manufacture of innovative specialities. Our mission: to anticipate and support the future of animal and plant production in a sustainable manner.
Discovered online, the partnership with the Plastic Pickup association was an obvious choice given its experience in working with businesses. The effectiveness of the collaboration and the responsiveness of the team were praised by our employees. We would like to warmly thank Plastic Pickup for providing the equipment and support. This first operation could lead to others.
